Paul is our fourth entry into the Outlaw Contest. As you can see from the picture he is pretty strong but that doesn’t mean the beer will be too strong. Balance is key as he decided to go with a lapsang souchong infused irish red ale with a touch of fennel. Easy to overdo the flavors but this is still easy to palate. Reminds him of some sausage with the smokey nose and spices in the finish but not overpowering. A smooth smokey brew for an end of winter prelude into spring. Come try out Paul’s beer as it will be tapped at noon Thursday, 3/8/2012 and available until it’s gone!

Here is Cathy, the third entry into the Outlaw Contest. She settled on a simple beer…ok not really. This is a daring beer filled with tons of flavor and adventure. This is a bourbon soaked coffee vanilla porter she has deemed worthy of the name “Toddy Porter” after the cold brew system that brewed the coffee. The cold brew lets the beer finish smooth and with less astringency and acidity, letting the other flavors come through on a higher level. At $6 per pint, it will be more of a challenge to kick fast, but she’s not scared. Cathy is going for the win! Tapping at noon Thursday, 3/01/12 and available until it’s gone.

Each staff member will make an Outlaw beer to be tapped on Thursday adding their own unique flare to the recipe. We are then going to tap each one at noon and the one to have their keg kicked the fastest (down to the minute) wins! We will also be awarding 2nd and 3rd place as well as a people’s choice. So come down on Thursdays and try them all so we can get your vote cast for people’s choice. Cheers, and here’s to beer and the thrill of experimentation!

We are pulling out all of the stops for this one. There will be food, games, music, and of course beer. We will have two beer stations and are blocking off our parking lot to handle all of the fun. What beers will be there? Of course our main beers:
- Cache la Porter (brown porter)
- Old Town Ale (Kölsch)
- Car 21 (best bitter)
- Stimulator (rye pale ale)
But we also will have our seasonals:

- Stevetoberfest (an Oktoberfest)
The menu – created by Matador Mexican Grill (don’t worry, they are going German for this one):
- Brats (made by Sunflower Market and made with Cache la Porter)
- Hot dogs

- Various mustards including some infused with our beer (if you know Matador, infusing food with beer is a specialty for sure)
